1: Take the footpath south of the beer garden on the east side of the car park. Walk uphill and diagonally SE across the field and go through a gate in the hedgerow. Head SSE until you reach another gate at the edge of woodland. With the woodland on your left, head SE until the path crosses a field and goes through a gap in the hedgerow to the B158. (540m)
2: Cross the road and turn left, walking NE along the east side of the B158 towards the right-hand bend in the road at the point where Wild Hill goes off to the left. (315m)
3: Turn right along a footpath which follows a private road heading SE. After 140m the footpath veers left to reach a wooden footbridge and a gate. Go through the gate and head NE with the woods on your right until you reach Hornbeam Lane. (415m)
4: Turn right on Hornbeam Lane and head SW, past stables on your left following the lane as it becomes a track. (1.3km) 5: When you reach Cucumber Lane, turn right and continue until you meet Tyler's Causeway. (460m)
6: Turn left and walk E for 65m looking out for a path on the right. Take the footpath and head S until you reach a bridleway on the right. (380m)
7: Take the bridleway and head W. After 1.3km you reach a farm. The bridleway continue through the farm. Keep following the bridleway, now a lane, W for almost 1km to the B158.
8: Cross the B158 and head W along Grubbs Lane walking on the footpath on the south side of the lane. (220m)
9: After 200m take the footpath on your left that heads S, crossing a footbridge and down the side of the transmitting station, and on to the A1000, the Great North Road. (1.1km))
10: Cross the A1000 and walk N until you reach Bell Lane on your left. (100m)
11: Turn left and head SE then NE until you reach the crossroads opposite the petrol station. (780m)
12: Cross the A1000 and take the footpath on the corner of the junction with Woodside Lane. Head NE across three fields before reaching Grubbs Lane. (740m)
13: Turn left on Grubbs Lane and take the footpath on your right as it heads NE to the brow of a hill before dropping down towards Wildhill. (740m)
14: At the end of the field go through the gap in the hedgerow to your right, then follow the path round to your left keeping the field on your right until you reach a gate on the left. (200m)
15: Go through the gate, cross a footbridge, then follow the path NE as it passes through another gate, across another footbridge, and a final gate before emerging at The Woodman. (280m)
